SEO Tool Bar

I just hired this really good programmer and so am thinking of all kinds of projects for him. One project that I have wanted to do for a long time is to create a SEO tool bar. You know, kind-of like the Google tool bar we all install but one centered around what an SEOer would want on it.

So, that is where you come in.

If you could customize a tool bar for SEO, what kind of things would you want on it?

Even if it is crazy, tell me below! 🙂

  1. Great question Dori – I was contemplating something similar last night as I was working my way through the learning curve on the ‘new and improved’ SEO Power Suite.

One exercise is to improve your page titles and meta descriptions, obviously both very important basics. What they tell you in the report is what you’re doing right, and what can be improved as to keyword density and keyword proximity.

So what would be very helpful is a tool that presents ‘proven’ versions of title tags and meta tags, with my keyword substituted for where ever the system got the proven tags from.

In essence it would help to rewrite the tags for me, so that when they are graded, they would score well. Sort of like Jonathan Ledger’s article templated rewriter that he recently sold, but for meta tags.

I guess the tool would scan thousands of meta tags, looking for ones that score very well in terms of keyword density and keyword proximity and save them to a database. Once I type in my keyword it shows me the tags I can use, knowing they already meet the formula for good structure.

Make sense? I know I’d buy it and possibly even subscribe to a tool like this…

  2. Hi Dori,

I’d like a tool that would tell me approximately what would be necessary (SEO wise) to get ranked on the first page, which keywords to optimize for and then offer suggestions on what would be necessary to achieve this goal.

    Best Wishes.

  3. I would like the toolbar to calculate what I might need – link wise – to rise above it in the search engines. 🙂

  4. Dori, are you using Conduit to create your tool bar?

Great idea for a SEO tool bar. We use it for our service community. Phoenixsos.com web site
Conduit has all sorts of functions you can put on the tool bar and it notifies everyone once a week of promotions going on. Best part it is free for everyone. Over 170 million users.

  5. There are a lot of tools that show the pr,links but we dont have a browser tool that measure the competition.

A tool that if found websites pr4-,or links 100- will mark them.

  6. Hey Dori,

Do you surf around with a Google toolbar? I never got that thing, I am scared of it..

IF (when) my sites do well, I plug them into analytics and webmaster, on a single google account of their own. (After cleaning browser + cookies an logging into VPN somewhere in the states) I suspect that helps with ranking (showing G those awesome return visitor stats, low bounce, etc).

I don’t want them peeking into my every move..

Sorry for being off topic here lol.. But if you have G toolbar, arent you afraid for them to pinpoint your networks for starters?

So here are my thoughts on new toolbar: isn’t most of it covered by SEOquake? What do YOU think is missing on that? I feel like I have all the info I need really..

  7. Dont wanna spoil the party but you only have to G Firefox SEO Add Ons and a whole suite of the big seo sites have more than enough offerings as add ons. I wouldnt bother wasting your money. Anything worthwhile is subscription based, with the main seo sites anyway, which is understandable as the data required is complex and lots of it!

Surely you dont want to be another Matt Cutts ass kisser like those SEO sites?

SEO`er – “Oh what you have for breakfast Matt?”
    Matt -“Eggs and Bacon”
SEO`er – “Oh really, cool, will that affect the algo in any way?”
    Matt – “Probably!”

Forget it Dori. Go write some good seo content instead.

  8. @Jose, good, thanks
    @Scott, very interesting, hmm
    @Carl and @Brian, I like that! :-)\
@Valeria, I think you are thinking same as Brian and Carl, yes?
@Steven, we are looking at it! 🙂
    @Pirondi, good, thanks
@Martin, Yeah I do surf with it lol and yes, a lot of things are covered with SEOQuake that I do not want to duplicate unless a means to another end.
@Web, Ahhh don’t you believe in innovation? lol

  9. I’d like it to tell me how to get the attractive women, sitting at the end of the bar, to come home with me.

Seriously though – all those toolbars have already been created…

  10. Hey Dori,

1)wether in WBM or is re-direct,
    2)no of backlinks,
    3) does the site rank for desired keyword,
    4) desired keyords in title,
    5)desired keywords in body,
    6)total number of outgoing links,
    7)cashe date,
7)domain info: hosted on subdomain?, age of domain, spam index,
    9)majestic SEO unique backlinks,
    10) quality of backlinks, edu/gov bl’s,

15)links surrounded by content with relevant longtail text?, 16)has nofollow or scripted links?

    Ok I guess thats enough,

  11. I know this is not the place to post this but no customer service tickets are being answered.

I bought the mp3s and bonuses for your Star Expos on May 26th. You had emailed in response to a ticket I sent in via http://www.trafficrockstars.com/iscript.php?C4 that the transcripts were being made and they would be available in a few weeks.

Now the link doesn’t work and I had been regularly logging in to check and sending tickets at that virocart link.

I am very dissatisfied. I told you in my first ticket that the transcripts were what I wanted, not the audios. I feel I have been ripped off now that the links are no longer valid and no one returns my support tickets.

Please get back to me regarding this matter.

  12. Hi Dori,

Are you the same Dori Friend who is the registrant of “corkjazzfestivalweek.com”?

    Regards,

    Will

  13. Dori- wondering if you can direct me to where I can purchase the traffic rockstars download of the recent webinar. I believe the price was $99.00, but the link does not work…thx!!

  14. Dori – I am also having issues with getting PDFs for traffic rockstars – support is not answering me. Pls help. Also virocart is now giving untrusted response. Thanks Julie

  15. @franjeanes, and Julie, please email me at support @ seonitro.com so I can respond to each and send you what you need. The PDFs and transcripts have already been delivered via email a while ago to those who purchased, and I can obviously see not everyone got them. (did you check your spam folder?)
@Will, yes, and we have spoken and yes, you can have the domain back 🙂
    @Sean, email me

  16. Dori:

I have a question about purchasing aged domains. I believe it was your 7-step report wherein you strongly recommend buying aged domains for SEO purposes. I have bought several that I found on Godaddy and put up adsense sites. Basically, I searched for domains with good keywords in them that were relevant to the niche. Then I did some research on the domain to check its age, existing backlinks and the theme of the previous website. My question is: what about the old pages that used to be on the website and are in Google index but do not exist anymore. I did a link:—- in google for my site and saw all of these defunct “404 not found” pages. Can these hurt my site? Do I need to get rid of them? They are not part of the site I put up on the domain and are not in my site map. Thanks for any help you can provide here.

    Rich

  17. Hey Dori,

I signed up for SEO Nitro a month ago and have still been unable to gain access to the site/network. I think I’ve done everything your initial email tells me to do.

I’ve tried to get ahold of you or someone from your organization, but I haven’t heard anything. This is very frustrating, as I would love to take advantage of the service we paid for a month ago. Thanks!

  18. Who are you and why do you own my name as a domain? I used to own this domain but it expired, when I tried to renew it it was taken?

    Hrafn

  19. Hey Dori,

I was just billed again for the service, and I still do not have access. Please respond or provide a refund or both.

  20. Can you please contact me regarding the domain hrafnthoroddsen.com that you now own (a domain I created)?

This domain is now answers to a nutrition health blog. I have no connection with the company behind this blog (provident essentials) so the my name as a domain behind it makes no sense what so ever. Is this a company that you are associated with?
